HELPING THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS |
HELPING THOSE WITH SPECIAL
NEEDS TO AUX. PIONEER.
(Brings MUTAL encouragement!)
It is most encouraging to me as a regular pioneer, to read this SERVING JEHOVAH WITH DETERMINATION DESPITE DISABILITIES web site . At our circuit assembly, we had the following experience related, that may perhaps be of further encouragement to others:
A SISTER WHO HAS ONLY ONE LEG and who has many other health problems too, and is in her 80's at least (Sister Collinson, Lurgan congregation, Northern Ireland) auxiliary pioneered for one month, doing 53 hours in the ministry! Her experience BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES, eyes, as I, as a regular pioneer, think that I have things difficult due to emotional problems from time to time! She is an INSPIRATION! She managed her ministry for a month DESPITE VERY REAL PROBLEMS! Such ones help put us able bodied brothers problems into perspective.
SHE IS SO GRATEFUL to the brothers, older as well as younger, for the support that she was given. If we are ever in a position to help such ones, we should grab it with both hands. We may think that such help is one way, but in reality, WE ALL BENEFIT AND ARE ENCOURAGED!
THERE IS A COUPLE IN THEIR 60's WITH FAILING HEALTH, and who are on medication daily, and need home help to take care of the house work, in Newry, pioneered -- the brother for one month, and the sister for two months so far. Such ones are a real inspiration!! Helping such persons with special needs to have a larger share in the ministry brings much joy and MUTUAL ENCOURAGEMENT!
Sending warmest Christian
love, Timothy Burt
