NEW
ZEALAND VACATION TOURS
FOR BROTHERS & SISTERS WITH DISABILITIES!
With
"Accessible Kiwi Tours"
"THERE
ARE NO BARRIERS AS FAR AS AGE OR DISABILITY!"
What is "ACCESSIBLE KIWI TOURS"- NEW ZEALAND? Who are its owners?
Accessible Kiwi Tours (NZ) Ltd. Is New Zealand's leading Tour company in providing for the needs of seniors or others with special needs. The company is owned Allan and Shona, both Jehovah's Witnesses in New Zealand.
About Allan & Shona:
Shona
and I (Allan) the owners, have both been in the Truth for many years--me since
1948 and Shona since the early 70s. We love
arranging special tours just for our brothers and sisters. We
own and manage Accessible Kiwi Tours (NZ) Ltd. New Zealand's leading
tour company in caring for the needs of Seniors or Disabled folk.
We have designed the itinerary below especially for our brothers and sisters, but more especially for those of you who may be retired, elderly, disabled, or just getting a little worn out. Our catch phrase and motto is "Luvin' Care with Every Fare". Our itineraries are however also quite suitable for anyone totally fit and able.
We can arrange the same or similar itineraries for individuals or couples but the price does increase substantially. We are also able to arrange New Zealand wide itineraries to suit any need.
WHEELCHAIRS, ACCESSIBLE VANS, ETC:
In our tours there are no barriers as far as age or disability. We have Wheelchair accessible vans and coaches available when necessary. Our company is the only one in New Zealand providing full nursing care if that is what is needed to help someone see our country.
Wheelchairs are no problem as long as we are aware in advance. In such cases we would use totally accessible vehicles and accommodation. All attractions included in this itinerary are suitable for wheelchairs.
It is a top of the line tour, using wherever possible first class accommodation. Top restaurants etc. If you have other interests or requests we are happy to be adaptable and do our very best to see such are met.
Special needs, caregivers, nursing care, etc:
If a
caregiver or nurse is needed we are able to bring one along, it is not
included in the basic price but is not expensive. Shona is competent nurse
experienced in all facets of providing personal care for a very wide variety
of special needs.
ABOUT OUR ITINERARIES:
Visiting Branch Office, congregations, sharing in field service:
We
want to provide tours especially for fellow believers, visiting our Branch
Office, visiting congregations, attending meetings and sharing in field
service with local congregations while on tour.
As well as showing off this beautiful country Jehovah has given us.
Our congregation is also always on the lookout for good visiting speakers.
New
Zealand caters well for those with special needs, many fine hotels and
restaurants with full wheelchair access, tourist attractions adapted to meet
the needs of people with special needs.

This is not one of our set itineraries and does not start on specific dates. It is purely a sample of what we can arrange for anyone contacting us, even on reasonably short notice.
|
|
| Day 1 | Pick up and assistance at Auckland International Airport. Our timetable is leisurely, your interest, comfort and enjoyment our main concern. You will be tired so a short look at some of Auckland's scenic highlights before we check in to your first class hotel. (We usually use Rydges very handy to the city centre.) your home for two nights. |
| Day 2 | Auckland contains about 50 known volcano sites, we'll take you up one. It also has more boats per capita than any other city in the world and is called the city of sails. Built on a narrow isthmus between to major harbours, the Manukau on the West, which you possibly glimpsed from the aircraft while landing. On the East Coast the beautiful Waitemata (where we successfully defend the Americas Cup every four years J) This morning we take a harbour cruise on the Waitemata, before visiting Kelly Tarlton's famous underwater world. |
| Day 3 | Sleep in if you want we have late check out arrangements. Then we head down to South Auckland for a tour of our branch facilities. A little further South to our Assembly Hall. A little further south to a spot of wine tasting, then a two hour ride to Rotorua the Tourist centre of the North Island. We spend an hour or two orientating you to this centre with it's many and varied attractions and activities. It is well known for it's Maori Culture and thermal/volcanic activity. This is our home for the next three nights. We usually stay at the Lakeside Novotel. |
| Day 4 | After a relaxed breakfast we head to Whakarewarewa to view the world famous geysers, boiling mud pools, and other thermal activity. Here also is the Maori Craft Centre, and Green Stone Carving Centre, well worth a browse. (The greenstone carver and his team are some of your brothers). Next we head up the gondola and enjoy a lunch with a panoramic view. After lunch we visit Rainbow Springs nature centre as well as the farm show. |
| Day 5 | We have a free day, there is a host of activities and our transport is available, scenic flight, 4WD to the top of a volcano (Mt Tarawera) or other activities. You may choose to laze in hot mineral pools and enjoy a soothing massage. Tonight we visit Tamaki Village, dine on Hangi (cooked in the ground). And see how the Maori lived before the Pakeha (European) arrived. |
| Day 6 | A short drive to NZ's largest body of water Lake Taupo, 1100 feet above sea level. A half day out trout fishing is an option here, our friend Chris Jolly knows just where the trout live, he cooks what you catch and serves it for lunch on the boat. (we need to know beforehand if you want this option) You will never forget the million dollar view across the lake to the volcanoes on the Central Plateau. Tonight if we have the right weather a local sister (my sister Joyce) arranges a good old Kiwi BBQ at DeBretts thermal pools. Here you can swim, soak, have a massage, as well as enjoy some good local hospitality. |
| Day 7 | A three hour drive back through Rotorua then East to Opotiki. Here we stay at our place. You have three nights here, plenty of time to meet our congregation, enjoy our hospitality. |
| Day 8 & 9 | If any visiting brothers qualify and are willing, and we know well in advance. We are interested in visiting Sunday speakers. We are also happy to invite you to share with us in the ministry in our little corner of the vineyard. We will take a drive for an hour or so along one of the most beautiful and unspoiled coast lines towards East Cape as far as TeKaha. |
| Day 10 | North through the towns of Whakatane and Tauranga to a beautiful place hardly any tourist will have ever heard of called Hahei on the Coromandel Peninsular. Here you can imagine just what the Earth will look like under Kingdom Rule. |
| Day 11 | A lovely scenic drive around and across the peninsular to a wee place called Papa Aroha. Here they serve the best seafood platter we have ever seen. |
| Day 12 | Back across the Haurakei Planes to Auckland only about a two hour drive, depending on the interest of the group there are many gold mining and timber milling relics around this area worth stopping at. Tonight we are back at Rydges. |
| Day 13 | Shopping for you sisters, by now you will know all the best deals, and with Shona there to coach you, you can't go wrong. A special farewell dinner tonight. |
| Day 14 | Sadly we say our farewells today, we head back to the airport and promise we will always keep in touch. |
