MAGNETIC THERAPY
I am happy to say that magnets and far infrared products have given me a new
life Since my immune system breakdown. I had suffered through an overactive
thyroid, then radiation of such, then fibromyalgia and a host of other ills
associated with the immune system. I am able to play tennis again after 15 yrs.
It was interesting that the same time I became involved with these products that
our new creation book highlighted the need for the electromagnetic field to be
in tune for life to continue. By supplying magnetism to my body I have increased
energy, less discomfort and with the far infrared products reducing toxins I
feel sooo much better. The Japanese are far ahead of us in health care.....it's
hard to find a band-aid in Japan that doesn't have a magnet in it. Sounds funny
doesn't it? But I wear a magnet on my back, in my shoes and I wear a magnetic
necklace around my neck every day....I sleep on a magnetic bed pad have a far
infrared comforter and oh what restorative sleep it is!! I remember how I wished
I could put everyone I met on a sleep system when you wrote that really nice
article based on the societies publications about sleep deprivation. It really
does have a profound affect doesn't it when you get a good nights rest. My
seventy yr. old mother came home from a senior fair in our area and said she
signed us up to sell magnets....boy did I laugh at her, I thought she was
talking about the ones you put on the fridge. Wasn't long before I was convinced
that she had fallen on to something. We now are distributors and helping lots of
people with many different problems. Not as rewarding as the ministry but it's
nice to like your employment if you have to work, huh? Love to all my brothers
and sisters who will read this and now you know why I have a "magnetic
personality", hee hee.

FYBOMYALGIA - INJECTION OF TRIGGER POINTS
It is Angela Mayes again with a suggestion for Fibro sufferers. My doctor has
this week started giving me Trigger Point Injections into my trapezoids muscle
to try a new idea for Fibro. The cocktail is Marcaine, Lidocaine and B12.
Already I have had relief in this muscle which has not stopped hurting in 3
years. I can fully rotate my right arm with accompanying pain. I plan to
continue this course of treatment along with exercise and hope to have longer
periods free from pain between each set of injections. Maybe this would help
some of my brothers and sisters. Just thought I would let you know what is
working for me.

MULTIPLE PROBLEMS AND TREATMENT
I began going to a brother who specializes in alternative medicine which
includes chiropractic and acupuncture. After just a few minutes of explanation
regarding my arm going numb at night and being very tired. He seemed to know
exactly what to do. He did some neck and back adjustments which relieved my
headache and neck ache which I had had for several days. He also asked about the
quality of my sleep. Well I thought I was a good sleeper but, after he brought
it up I realized that I had experienced interrupted sleep for the last several
years since my daughter was born. I am often awakened several times a night and
I seem to have a constant ear open for "danger". My dog often woke me
up, the sounds in the street, my daughter, the safety of the house. So he
recommended something to help me get a good nights sleep. He also mentioned that
I could have the beginnings of chronic fatigue syndrome. I was not prepared to
hear that. So he also put me on some nutritional powder formulas because I am so
thin and basically appear malnourished. These were all eye opening for me but,
seem to fit my symptoms. Well, after one more visit and more back adjustments I
am beginning to feel much better. I feel more alert. Calmer. I am resting much
better and I awake refreshed. To help me sleep I am taking a Valerian-Amino Acid
Formula at bedtime and a Neuromuscular Support Formula with meals. I also have a
powdered nutritional drink to give added nutrition and protein in my diet. I am
already seeing results with just a week and a half of treatment.
I hope to see more improvement and am hopeful that I am on the right track for improved health. I know there is no cure-all until the new system but, maybe someone would benefit by hearing my experience. I am sure many of us could be malnourished and worn out more than we realize because of life in this stressful fast paced world. If you think it would be helpful pass this along to others. I will keep you posted on my progress.

IBM debuts talking browser
Computer giant opens up Internet to the blind with English-speaking Web browser
February 3, 1999: 10:03 a.m. ET
NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Big Blue is reaching out to the visually impaired.
IBM Corp. said Wednesday it is rolling
out a new talking Web browser that will bring the blind and visually impaired up
to speed on the information superhighway.
The new software, called Home Page Reader for Windows, provides Internet access
by translating the information found on a Web site into the spoken word.
For now, the product is available in English, joining the original Japanese
version of the technology. IBM, however, said it plans to translate Home Page
Reader into other languages this year.
"More and more people are joining the Internet revolution," said Chuck
King, product manager, IBM Special Needs Systems. "But until recently,
access to the Internet was extremely limited for blind adults and children. Home
Page Reader is closing the information gap between sighted and blind computer
users at home and at work. Now, more people nationwide can benefit from the
wealth of information available on the Internet."
IBM tested the new English version of Home Page Reader across the country. The
original Japanese version was developed with the help of Chieko Asakawa, a blind
researcher from IBM's Tokyo Research Laboratory.
More than 850,000 individuals in the United States are blind, according to the
National Federation of the Blind.
Home Page Reader uses IBM's ViaVoice Outloud U.S. English text-to-speech
technology, and Netscape Navigator to speak Web-based information in an
easy-to-understand format.
According to the company, the product recognizes HTML tags, the programming
language used to design Web pages, to accurately translate text, tables, graphic
descriptions, text in column format and data fields.
Home Page Reader uses a simple keypad that allows blind users to interact with
their computer and easily navigate the Internet. A fast-forward function allows
users to skim Web pages to locate information quickly. Additionally, the
software offers an integrated electronic mail feature that allows users to send
messages via e-mail.
Priced at $149, Home Page Reader is
available immediately in the United States. Additional user licenses can be
purchased at $129 each.
Home Page Reader software runs on Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows
NT.
Shares of Armonk, NY-based IBM (IBM) finished Tuesday at 176-3/4 a share on the New York Stock Exchange.
EXCITING NEWS FOR THE BLIND !
I have received a letter from German business friends, (not witnesses) with some exciting news for the blind.
The man is blind as a result of an operation gone wrong many years ago, and I am fascinated by his ability to live a normal life. I thought I would share this tidbit with my friends, although we are looking forward to the new order when complete vision will be restored to our blind loved ones.
"A development worth reporting: [Some particular friends] were invited to meet the team of eye surgeons and computer specialists working on a research program to restore sight to the blind by implanting a specially prepared foil on the retina, and feeding it with digital impulses from a computer so miniaturized that it fits into a spectacle frame, and is capable of processing the images that fall on the spectacle lenses and transmitting them to the foil on the retina in a form that can be translated into vision by the brain.
The Germans, it seems are world leaders in this field, and are confident of making the first human implant in 2002. The computer hardware is ready; so, too, is the software. The neurocybernetic homework has been done, and animal trials will begin next year. On present laboratory evidence, it will not be possible to restore sight sufficiently for reading purposes, but outlines, shapes and even colors will be made sufficiently visible to permit some degree of unaccompanied mobility. This is the start. Prof. Rolf Eckmiller and his team are confident of further improvement. Although the State has funded the research thus far with a grant of DM 10m, it will need five times that figure to go from laboratory proto typestoserial production.
What are the [some particular friends] to make of all this? S. could not hold back her tears, while R. is stunned at the prospect of possibly seeing again. Darkness has become so all-embracing and familiar that even a ray of light - let alone a shape - would be an innovation too overwhelming for words. We shall see - hopefully, in this case, quite literally so!
